At different levels this means different things.

I was so glad Wendy was there to guide me through this shift in thinking. It would be very easy to drill or to make the horse feel wrong. I had to be very emotionally even for Bleu to understand that it was about "response" vs. "react." And I had to find the times to just allow her to sort it out.Lisahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08035597114351155375noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8996505457028956833.post-61679252138005283352011-05-21T14:16:15.829-05:002011-05-21T14:16:15.829-05:00Always a great read, Lisa. Lots of gems to take with me next time I play with Augie and Bullet.inchwormwvhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00078231697778717349noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8996505457028956833.post-9167405032566444972011-05-12T14:22:16.274-05:002011-05-12T14:22:16.274-05:00I wouldn't say I get regular lessons but I do ...I wouldn't say I get regular lessons but I do my best to take advantage of what's available.

You might be closer with Katie than you think. When we transitioned this to the circle game, after Bleu gave a good send through her shoulder, I allowed her to just be on the circle to get the adrenaline out. That's when I allowed her time to figure out it was all good.

I guess a better description is something Dan Thompson once told me: do you you care so much that you'll do it for her? I care about Bleu's emotions and as such I have to not care so she learns how to take care of herself without me babysitting her confidence. Make sense?

And by the way, the nannying was great. Stella is a great kid and we get along well. She's pretty cool because she's a RBI so she's very obedient and very content to be in one place. All in all, I had fun. Not doing it next year as I hope to be IN supercamp (hey, you should come, hint hint!)Lisahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08035597114351155375noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8996505457028956833.post-66059214519514060762011-05-12T13:55:22.173-05:002011-05-12T13:55:22.173-05:00As always, thank you for posting your highlights/b...As always, thank you for posting your highlights/bfos. So useful for those of us without the benefit of even irregular lessons!! I'm jealous of your progress, as I'm currently plateaued...again. *blah* Love the playing with Bleu and can't wait to get that with Katie someday! Also, I can completely empathize with your lack of foc - so how did the nannying go? ;)

(If you find some kind of medical help that actually works, let me know, k?)Tinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14393381752572491969noreply@blogger.com
