The Winds of Change

I did it.  I took the plunge.  I cancelled my Gold Savvy Club membership.

I'm still in the Savvy Club . . . for now.  We'll just see how it goes.

I'm frankly a little disappointed in the response, or lack thereof, when I requested the change.  No request for feedback on why I was changing.  You'd think an organization might like some information on why its customer base is choosing or not choosing a particular product.  Oh well . . .

The truth is, I'm disappointed.  Overall, I was disappointed in Cricket's Horsenality Report.  I'm disappointed that there is still no word on the Personality and Match reports.  I was disappointed in the Gold Summit - there is no way the Columbus Summit would have been worth the $1500 ticket price.  The best part of the whole event was the Keith Dane from the Humane Society.

I'm disappointed in the repeat information on the Savvy Club DVDs.  The July issue marked the third time this year that Savvy Club DVD material was a reissue of other educational material.  Apparently there is something "exciting" coming down the pipeline.  But if it's like every other promise, it might be next year when we see it.

So it's time for a change.  I'm not ready to give up entirely but I am tired of spending my hard-earned money waiting for the fulfillment of promises that have been empty for too long.

I'm sorry to hear that you're unhappy, Lisa, and its pretty unusual that no one from Parelli got back to you.

Are there any particular changes you'd like to see in the Savvy Club?

Kerrin - I'm just tired of all the empty promises. There is too much hype and too little follow-through. I've looked for the answers in Parelli and I'm not finding them. I've asked for more high level on-line stuff with LBI and it never materializes.

And since the person who took my call didn't seem to really care at all that I was changing, I guess I shouldn't care too much either.

Hey Lisa,

I know this was not a hasty decision on your part, and I know that you will always do the right things to advance your horsemanship, and the right things for your horses. Change can be hard, and so is growing and learning. I am pleased to be a part (virtual LOL) of your path to excellence!

No, Tenley, it was far from hasty. I've been contemplating it for months. I just needed to realize there is no sense being part of something or subscribing to something that doesn't have the information I need.

Well I'm happy to be part of your journey as well!

I've spoken to someone here at Parelli Central, and they should soon get in contact with you, Lisa.

Kerrin,
I appreciate your efforts and your enthusiasm but I'm not holding my breath.

Hey, Lisa. I'm just catching up on your blog now. I'm pretty happy with the basic SC membership (at the grandfathered rate), but even I have been rethinking things lately..

You mentioned that you are looking for high level online info for an LBI - look no further!! Check into Karen Rohlf's stuff! OMG, she seems to pick right up at PNH L2+ and moves right into teaching dressage from the ground (online & in-hand) using a halter. Then it is just a little jump into doing it bareback w. a halter. (I've told friends that it seems like the natural follow up to Linda's red L1 & blue L2 packs!)

Her first DVD features an LBI. :-)) I'm saving up to buy her "Everything Pack" after Christmas.

Another good resource that I've discovered is the CT book, "Getting to Yes" by Sharon Foley. She is a CT/NH/dressage person. The book details many online & in-hand exercises & how to break them up.

There IS hope!
